Follow the Music on Loopt
Loopt is a location based mobile Social Netowork that is gaining ground on the iPhone, Blackberry and other smart phones very quickly. From their site:

Yesterday Loopt announced a service for musicians that is keeping fans in tune to where some of the top indie bands are in their tour route. The service is called Follow the Music. Bands that have jumped on board include hip-hop/rockers Shwayze who are checking in from the Warped Tour, and they accompany Chromeo, 3oh!3, The Submarines, The Secret Handshake, A Cursive Memory, Meiko, Valencia, The Medic Droid and Bayside.
To follow these bands it takes 3 easy steps (or 2 if you already have Loopt on your phone)
1. Sign-up and download Loopt to your mobile phone.
2. Use the codes to invite the artists you want to follow. (ex: 000-000-0001)
3. Invite your friends so everyone can Follow the Music (and each other!)
While the actual Follow the Music service appears to be for only the included bands, you as an indie band can still take part in the action, just by having an account and having your fans come along for the ride. You can post your location updates and have impromptu meet-ups before, during and after shows and even let your fans know where you are chillin.
As more and more teens and 20-somethings turn to mobile devices to get their information and connect with their friends, the more powerful tools like Loopt become.
