Lost Boys: The Tribe Soundtrack
When it comes to movie soundtracks more often than not they either don’t contain the songs in the film or really don’t share the vibe or image the film is portraying. This soundtrack definitely portrays the dark and dismal image which is typically associated with vampires. Aiden opens the album with the theme of the movie The Lost Boys “Cry Little Sister”, so if you captured the original movie you will recognize this song. The edginess and darkness Aiden brings to the table is colossal. A live acoustic version of the hit song “Burrito” by Seether is simply superb. The light drum work and the guitar strums accent Shaun’s amazing and distinctive vocals. One jam you wouldn’t think of to be on this album comes via a rocked up mix of a hip hop song by Styles Of Beyond. Their jam “Nine Thou (Grant Morman Superstars Remix)” is extremely edgy and explosive with some ravaging bellows on the hook to the highly electronic bass riddled and guitar chaotic beat. Taking the tone of the CD in a different direction comes along courtesy of G Love & Special Sauce when they sing the soulful and bluesy “Long Way Down”. The change of tempo really stirs things up and is a pretty nice break from the dark dreary imagery. Some other artists on the album include The Hold Steady, Airbourne, Starsailor, The Von Bondies and Blind Melon to name a few
