Pepper | Pink Crustaceans And Good Vibrations
The heavily reggae influenced rock act is back with yet another musical masterpiece. I don’t think these guys could make a bad record even if they tried they just ooze talent both musically and lyrically. The first song on the album is “Freeze” but you definitely won’t be sitting still nor cold listening to this track. You’ll more than likely be singing along with the guitar strums, the bongos being beat and the light cymbal crashing. The crawling tempo on “Things That You Love” is exquisite. The guitar play will mesmerize you, the percussion pulls out all the stops using a variety of different instruments and the lyrics are absolutely captivating. The beat on “Love 101” is very fun and carefree while the tone and tempo on “Musical 69” is more upbeat and full of some very clever and witty lyrics (use your imagination on what you think the song could possibly be about). They get real edgy and almost dark and dreary sounding jam “The Phoenix”. The drum work is very simplistic, the guitars get pretty wild and the bass just booms. You really cannot go wrong with this CD; there is so much originality, fun and ease of mind jams on it to please everyone. Pepper is one of those acts that are way bigger and way more popular than you realize, just because they aren’t on TRL doesn’t mean this act isn’t doing HUGE things.
