The Scenic “Find Yourself Here”
Victory Records seems to have a knack for producing very energetic, catchy and compelling acts as this is yet another of their many (see Hawthorne Heights, Aiden, etc). “The American Way” is filled with echoing backing vocals, rambunctious drum work, edgy guitar and booming bass play all placed picturesque behind the belting of colorful lyrics. “Take You Time” is a very mellow track filled with beautiful vocals and some superb piano play. After that soothing and relaxing song they pick the tempo back up with the jam “Are You Down?”. The racy guitar strums and piercing percussion allows the passion to be exuded through intensely delivered lyrics. My favorite cut comes along in the form of the edgy and heavy “All My Friends”. The music arrangement is mind blowing with serious guitar slaying. The message is simply stellar and the vocals are mixed with sincere and sweet harmony with bellowing screams which grab your attention and catch you off guard. Very well rounded album, keeping you guessing what’s going to come next.
